NBA Power Rankings Based on NBA Championship Odds After Week 3
The NBA season just kicked off last week, so many of the championship odds aren't going to change. Yet, that doesn't mean there isn't a hierarchy of teams in the league.
The Association is constantly changing and keeping up with who's looking the best can be difficult. Every week, I'll be providing my NBA Power Rankings for each team in relation to their NBA title odds.
Here's how things stand after the second week of action. All odds listed are via WynnBET.
1. Golden State Warriors (+700, LW: No. 2)
With Steph Curry dropping 50 and making strides in the MVP race along with the Warriors having the best record in the league, it's safe to give them the top spot.
2. Miami Heat (+1200, LW: No. 9)
The Miami Heat may have lost to Denver, but they are still hitting on nearly every cylinder. They just need Kyle Lowry to get going and they will be truly dangerous.
3. Philadelphia 76ers (+2500, LW: No. 18)
The entire city of Philadelphia has come together to hate Ben Simmons and it is leading them in a positive direction. Philly has the best offensive rating in the league and is getting wins against quality teams in the process.
4. Utah Jazz (+1000, LW: No. 1)
Utah has had a few injuries here and there, but it is still rolling along. Donovan Mitchell has scored 35+ in two of the last three games and is starting to bubble up.
5. Brooklyn Nets (+270, LW: No. 10)
The Nets are on a five-game winning streak and are looking like the power we thought they would be. Now James Harden needs to get right so they can move to the top of this list.
6. Washington Wizards (+20000, LW: No. 8)
Washington is the surprise of the season so far. The Wizards are solid on both ends of the floor and are making a play for a top seed in the East.
7. Chicago Bulls (+4000, LW: No.3)
Chicago still has the second-best record in the East, but it is in the thick of a rough schedule. With two losses in their last three, the Bulls are slipping just a little bit.
8. Phoenix Suns (+1500, LW: No. 12)
Phoenix is starting to put the pieces together again as Devin Booker and Chris Paul are finding their synergy.
9. New York Knicks (+7500, LW: No. 4)
The Knicks are in the same basket as the Bulls. They've cooled off slightly since the first week of the season and are now grinding for wins. The comeback against Milwaukee did say a lot.
10. Dallas Mavericks (+4000, LW: No. 15)
Dallas hasn't been impressive, but it's winning games. Luka Doncic is slowly finding his footing and as long as he is hitting game-winners, the Mavericks will be fine.
11. Milwaukee Bucks (+800, LW: No. 7)
Milwaukee is banged up, but we know what they will be once they are healthy.
12. Memphis Grizzlies (+7500, LW: No. 11)
Memphis is still trying to figure out how to win consistently and separate itself from the pack. Until then, the Grizzlies will be in the middle tier.
13. Denver Nuggets (+2000, LW: No. 5)
Denver had some drama on Monday, but it has won two straight games and is getting back on the right track.
14. Toronto Raptors (+20000, LW: No. 17)
Toronto is making some noise, especially with Scottie Barnes showing out the way he is. Pascal Siakam is on his way back and they should be ascending.
15. Cleveland Cavaliers (+50000, LW: No. 21)
The Cavaliers got a great win in New York this weekend. They are finding ways to win and that is important for a roster with a lack of high-end talent.
16. Los Angeles Lakers (+550, LW: No. 13)
The Lakers are in the middle of the league. They have a lot of issues, but they get a pass because it's early and LeBron James is out.
17. Atlanta Hawks (+4000, LW: No. 14)
Atlanta has been disappointing. The Hawks were supposed to contend for a top 4 seed and they look discombobulated and inconsistent.
18. Portland Trail Blazers (+7500, LW: No. 16)
Portland is very unpredictable. Until Damian Lillard returns to form, the Blazers will be close to the bottom third of the league.
19. Charlotte Hornets (+20000, LW: No. 6)
When Charlotte is on, it's on. Unfortunately for the Hornets, they've gone cold and are losing games in the process. Defensively, they need help.
20. Los Angeles Clippers (+2000, LW: No. 24)
Paul George and the Clippers have come alive and are on a nice five-game winning streak.
21. Indiana Pacers (+20000, LW: No. 23)
The Pacers play everyone tough and are one of the hardest teams to figure out. They can beat any team on any given night, but they are losing more often than winning.
22. Sacramento Kings (+20000, LW: No. 20)
The Kings just had an explosive offensive night against the Hornets, but followed it up with two straight losses. They weren't embarrassing losses, yet the lack of consistency is concerning.
23. Boston Celtics (+5000, LW: No. 25)
The Celtics are a mess right now. Jaylen Brown is out and might be in trade talks. Nevertheless, they are 4-6 with decent players.
24. San Antonio Spurs (+30000, LW: No. 22)
San Antonio has the same amount of wins as Minnesota, but it isn't in a free fall right now.
25. Oklahoma City Thunder (+50000, LW: No. 8)
For some reason, Oklahoma City loves playing the Lakers. I still think they are one of the most "fade-able" teams in the league, but two comeback wins earn them respect.
26. Minnesota Timberwolves (+20000, LW: No. 19)
Minnesota is falling victim to its demons again. The Timberwolves have lost five in a row and it's looking like hard times are on the horizon.
27. Orlando Magic (+100000, LW: No. 29)
The Magic picked up a a solid win against Utah to end the week, which moves them up a couple spots.
28. Houston Rockets (+50000, LW: No. 28)
Houston competes hard, but the Rockets are just as bad as the Pelicans. The Rockets have lost eight in a row and are set to lose a lot this season.
29. New Orleans Pelicans (+20000, LW: No. 27)
Until Zion Williamson comes back, New Orleans will slide further and further down this list. The Pelicans lost seven in a row and more will come.
30. Detroit Pistons (+50000, LW: No. 26)
The Pistons have the fewest amount of wins in the league and they look putrid. Detroit is waiting for Cade Cunningham to take off, but he will need time.
