Week 5 in the NFL could have been disastrous for those of us in NFL Survivor Pools, but the New England Patriots, Green Bay Packers and Minnesota Vikings all squeaked by with game-winning field goals.

Some of our staff had to sweat out the Patriots’ comeback against the Houston Texans, but everyone survived heading into Week 6.

Here’s how the BetSided team fared this past week:

NFL Week 6 Survivor Pick: Kansas City Chiefs

The Chiefs are a terrible team at covering the spread, and they're 2-3 straight up on the season, but there's no doubt in my mind that they'll beat the Washington Football Team in Week 6.

Kansas City might be giving up the most points per game this season, but you know who's giving up the second most? Washington. This game comes down to who can beat up a poor defense more, Patrick Mahomes or Taylor Heinicke? I'll go with Mahomes 10 times out of 10.

The Chiefs get back on track with a win this week. -- Iain MacMillan

It's a tricky week with several high profile matchups, but I'll back the Chiefs to get off the mat after a demoralizing loss to the Bills on Sunday Night Football. Washington's defense has struggled to stop anyone this season and while Taylor Heinicke has kept games interesting, Mahomes and co. take care of business. KC's offense is still performing at historic levels, and I expect them to raise the intensity after a 2-3 start. -- Reed Wallach

NFL Week 6 Survivor Pick: Los Angeles Rams

I’ve been trying to save the Rams until I really need them, but Week 6 is a tricky slate with bye weeks finally coming into play.

Kansas City’s recent struggles are a bit of a concern for me, so I’d rather take Matthew Stafford and company against an extremely banged up New York Giants team. WynnBET has the Rams as 11-point favorites in this matchup.

The Giants lost Saquon Barkley, Daniel Jones and Kenny Golladay to injury in Week 5, and they may be without all three against the Rams. Mike Glennon and Devontae Booker are not pulling off the upset, even at home, and the Rams have 10 days of rest on top of it after playing on Thursday night in Week 5. -- Peter Dewey

With Daniel Jones, Saquon Barkley and Kenny Golladay all possibly missing this game, and the Giants already essentially out of the playoff picture, this seems like a no brainer. The Rams are 10.5-point favorites for a reason. They're No. 4 in the Super Bowl odds (+900) for a reason. Even though this game is in New York and is an early game (usually a trap situation for West-Coast teams), I just think the talent on the Rams is too strong for the Giants to overcome. -- Brian Giuffra
