The 26-27 Boston Red Sox have won three straight as they gun for a sweep of the 20-35 Oakland Athletics today at 4:07 p.m. EST.

Rich HIll will start for Boston and though he got roughed up by Baltimore for six runs in his last outing, he's been strong on the road. He has a 2.70 ERA through five outings and will look to improve on a 1-3 record.

Oakland will counter with Frankie Montas, who had a 2.31 ERA in May as he dazzled. Montas has a quality start in each of his last three home outings as he looks to snap the A's five-game losing streak.

Can he succeed? Or will Boston finish off the sweep behind another strong performance from Hill or the road?

Red Sox vs Athletics Prediction and Pick

Frankie Montas is having a sublime season, but you sure wouldn't know it by looking at wins and losses. Oakland has lost eight straight games he's started despite Montas allowing more than two runs only twice during that stretch.

In Montas' last eight starts, the Atheltics have scored the following number of runs: one, one, three, one, zero, zero, eight and zero. That's horrible and you have to feel bad for the guy. Meanwhile, Boston has scored at least 10 runs in three of Rich Hill's last four outings. It'd be hilarious if it weren't so cruel.

The A's are 2-4 in their last six as a home favorite and I'm a bit surprised at the line given Hill's strong track record on the road. Boston is 4-2 in their previous six as a road underdog and I think there's great value on them to finish off the sweep.

But I also like the under. It's 4-1 in Hill's five road starts and 8-2 in Montas' last 10. Oakland's lineup should continue to struggle while Boston scratches a couple runs on the board late against the A's increasingly leaky bullpen.

Pick: Red Sox (+106) and Under 7.5 (-125)
