Red Sox vs. Blue Jays Prediction and Odds for Monday, June 27 (Boston's Hot Streak Comes to an End)
By Josh Yourish
The Boston Red Sox have vaulted themselves into second place in the AL East, passing the Blue Jays and Rays with a seven game winning streak. Boston just completed a sweep of the Cleveland Guardians and now prepare to further distance themselves from Toronto on Monday night.
The Blue Jays have lost three-straight series, but they have Kevin Gausman on the mound tonight. Boston counters with Conor Seabold.

Red Sox vs. Blue Jays Prediction and Pick
June has been rough to Kevin Gausman who currently has a 3.19 ERA, but only a 5-6 record on the year. The Blue Jays have lost all four of Gausman’s starts in June, though two of them have been quality starts. The other two have been disasters; 3.2 innings, five runs, three of them earned, and nine hits on June 5 and 2.1 innings, seven runs, five of them earned and seven hits on June 16.
If you noticed a trend, the fielding behind him is a problem. Gausman's fielding independent pitching (FIP) is sitting at a stellar 1.75. There is a massive discrepancy despite the fact that the Toronto defense is top ten in defensive runs saved this year. So, I expect Gausmans numbers to level out and his ERA to fall more in line with his FIP.
The Blue Jays are 3-7 in their last ten games and have an ERA of 6.67 over that stretch. They will need to pitch much better against a Boston team that has won out of their last ten. Connor Seabold is making his second career start and first of this season tonight. The 26-year-old Seabold is the Red Sox 14th ranked prospect according to MLB.com. Even though Toronto has been struggling, Seabold still has his work cut out for him.
Pick: Blue Jays -170
