Rockies vs. Dodgers Prediction and Odds for Monday, July 4 (Trust Julio Urias to Roll at Home Against Colorado)
By Matt De Saro
The Colorado Rockies will head to Los Angeles tonight to begin a three-game series on the road against the Dodgers. This is a rematch of last week and will give the Dodgers a chance at quick revenge after losing two of three on the road.
The Dodgers are now 2-4 straight up at Coors Field. But, L.A. is a far better team on its own turf and the Rockies offense has a tendency to fade on the road.

Rockies vs. Dodgers Prediction and Pick
The Dodgers’ Julio Urias continues to develop into the superstar pitcher L.A. hoped he would be when they promoted him to the bigs at 18 years old. Now, seven years later, he’s just 25 and blowing the doors off his competition. Despite a questionable 6-6 record, Urias has a 2.64 ERA and 1.03 WHIP in 81 ⅔ innings.
Since the start of June, he’s been even better with a 2.20 ERA in five starts spanning 28 ⅔ innings. He had a bit of a hiccup last week, surrendering three runs in 5 ⅓ innings to this same Rockies team. But, that game was at Coors Field, a notoriously tough place to pitch.
Urias in particular has trouble at Coors with a .290 batting average against the Rockies there. The good news is that Urias has a 2.62 ERA this year at Dodger Stadium with a .203 OBA in 34 ⅓ innings.
Urias will battle it out with Kyle Freeland tonight in L.A. in his 16th start of the year for Colorado. For a guy that pitches half the time in Colorado, his 4.31 ERA and 1.38 WHIP are not that bad. But, the Dodgers are dominant at home at 23-13 overall.
Meanwhile, the Rockies are just 12-23 on the road. Urias is 3-1 in his last four games against the Rockies and I think he continues to dominate tonight.
Pick: Dodgers -1.5 (-140)
