Sixers vs. Hornets Prediction and Odds: Back Philly with Charlotte Out of Gas
By Matt De Saro
The Charlotte Hornets will have a tough go of it tonight when they host the Philadelphia 76ers at the Spectrum Center. Not only is Charlotte on the wrong end of a back-to-back, but they're also dealing with several players sitting out mostly due to COVID protocols.
Terry Rozier, LaMelo, Mason Blimlee, and Jalen McDaniels are all technically healthy, but still are unable to play tonight. The first two are the Hornets' best players and yet they managed to eke out a win over the Atlanta Hawks last night. Will lady luck be as kind tonight?
Speaking of luck, the Sixers had some terrible luck with injuries early in this season; as is the Sixer way. Things, however, are looking up lately with Joel Embiid back in the lineup. The Sixers have won two of their last three games and will be a dangerous matchup for a depleted Hornets team.

Sixers vs. Hornets Prediction and Pick
I have to say, I was very impressed with the Hornets’ victory last night over an Atlanta Hawks team that was 8-3 at home before last night. But one has to wonder how much extra energy was expended by the Hornets in the absence of two of their best scorers. They were able to rely on their offense despite the missing weapons but I don’t see that being a viable option tonight.
The Sixers are getting healthy and Embiid has been a force on offense since his return. The Philly defense has also started playing a lot tougher over the last week or so. With the Hornets down three starters, including their point guard, the Sixers have a strong edge here. Especially with the extra rest and a healthy Joel Embiid.
Pick: Sixers -7.0 (-110)
