The Los Angeles Lakers and Phoenix Suns meet on Friday night in a rematch from last seasons first round series that saw Chris Paul and the Suns emerge victorious.

Both clubs have NBA Finals aspirations, but lost their opening game to contending teams in the Western Conference.

Which team will get their first win of the 2021-2022 season? Here are the odds from WynnBET Sportsbook, followed by our game preview.

Suns vs. Lakers Odds

Spread:

Suns: PK (-110)

Lakers: PK (-110)

Moneyline:

Suns: -110

Lakers: -110

Total:

221 (Over -110/Under -110)

Suns vs. Lakers Betting Trends

  • LeBron James teams are a 174-185-4 ATS off of a loss in his career
  • The Suns are 18-10 ATS off a loss since acquiring Chris Paul
  • The Lakers went OVER in their first game, but the Suns went UNDER

I'm concerned about the Lakers long term and the complextion of the roster but this feels like a slight overreaction to the team's rough start against the Warriors on Tuesday night.

The Suns don't have a frontcourt stopper to match Anthony Davis, who looked spry in the opener, scoring 33 points on 15-of-26 shooting with 11 rebounds. He and LeBron James, who had 34/11/5, were both -2 in a game the Lakers lost by seven.

I expect the Lakers dynamic duo to take over in this matchup against a Suns defense that struggles at stopping bulkier forwards. Jae Crowder and Mikal Bridgers are plus defenders, but we saw in the postseason that they would struggle against a banged up version of Davis and James.

This spread has swung too far away from LA, this team is still incredibly talented and should be able to win a game being lined as a toss-up.
