There’s Still Time to Buy Low on the Mavericks
The Dallas Mavericks, subtracting a blowout loss to the Warriors, have been on fire as of late.
Luka Doncic is on a tear and has the Mavericks trending in the right direction. Dallas is currently the No. 5 seed in the Western Conference and two games back of the Utah Jazz. With just under half the season left to go, now would be the perfect time to buy low on the Mavericks as they make their run to the playoffs.
WynnBET has the Mavericks’ odds at +225 to win the Southwestern division. They are behind the Memphis Grizzlies (-400) and are 4.5 games back of them to be in the No. 3 seed in the West.
Last year, the Mavericks were powered by their offense. They had one of the highest offensive ratings in league history behind Rick Carlisle. Under Jason Kidd, it’s been the complete opposite. Yes Doncic is still one of the best offensive players in the league, but the defense the Mavericks are playing have them on this current run.
Dallas is 5th in the league in defensive rating on the year and are top 10 in net rating. Dallas will have the ability to get even better as the season goes on. The Mavericks have the fifth-easiest remaining schedule in the league. On top of that, they beat the Grizzlies earlier this week and brought the season series to a 2-2 draw. Dallas is only one loss away from the Grizzlies’ conference record, which gives a little bit of hope they can catch up and win a tiebreak.
The Mavericks have a lot of work to do. I will admit that. They will likely need another long winning streak to catch up to Memphis. However, it’s not impossible with Doncic leading the team – making them an interesting bet down the stretch of the season.
