Top MLB Picks and Predictions Today (Two UNDERs to Bet, Plus Rockies-Royals Pick)
We have a loaded Sunday slate in Major League Baseball, and the BetSided team has you covered with some of their top picks for the action.
Joe Summers, Ben Heisler and Peter Dewey each have a play for Sunday afternoon's games, with all odds via WynnBET Sportsbook:
Kansas City Royals vs Colorado Rockies Prediction and Pick
At home, Daniel Lynch has a 2.70 ERA. On the road, his ERA balloons to 4.91. He'll make his first career start at Coors Field today against a Rockies lineup that leads the league in OPS against left-handed pitchers, so he could be in for a long afternoon.
Lynch ranks in the 91st percentile in chase rate but just the 25th in average exit velocity and 15th in hard hit percentage. Colorado has a patient lineup, and Coors Field is not where you want to pitch if you give up a lot of hard contact. And if Lynch gets off to a rocky (pun intended) start, the Royals' disastrous bullpen won't be able to quench the fire.
Kansas City ranks 24th in OPS against lefty's and I don't expect an offensive onslaught against Austin Gomber. He has a 3.38 ERA over his last four starts and all four opponents have a better lineup than the Royals do.
Colorado is 12-5 over their last 17 home matchups and I expect them to improve on that number today. Give me the Rockies to cover the run line for the second consecutive day and prove to the Royals that the first game of the series was merely a fluke.
Pick: Rockies -1.5 (+125) -- Joe Summers

New York Yankees vs. Chicago White Sox Prediction and Pick
The Yankees have a chance to take three of four games in this series, which has been weirdly high scoring given how well New York has pitched so far this season.
We saw things come back to earth on Saturday, with the White Sox winning 3-2, and I think we could be in for a similar result with how well Michael Kopech and Nestor Cortes have pitched this season.
Cortes hasn't allowed more than two runs in a game all year, and the Yankees have seen their games with him on the mound finish with totals of four, five, nine, 14, three and one.
New York also has one of the best bullpens in baseball, and it feels like the pitching for both sides is due from some improvement after 36 runs were scored in the first two games of the series.
I’ll back the UNDER at -105 odds.
Lean: UNDER 8 (-105) -- Peter Dewey

Toronto Blue Jays vs. Tampa Bay Rays Prediction and Pick
If the Blue Jays want to start climbing back into the division, having phenom right-hander Alek Manoah on the mound is about as ideal a scenario as one could hope for. The 24-year old has been lights out throughout the season, not allowing more than two runs in any of his previous six starts.
He's opposed this afternoon by Rays' left-hander Jeffrey Springs, who will act as the opener. Springs has also been excellent starting off games, pitching to a 2.12 ERA with 18 strikeouts to just three walks.
While the initial lean is to go over based on both teams allowing the most runs in the division, I'll instead go under due to Manoah's consistency over the course of the season. His worst start of the year came last week when he only went five innings of two run baseball against the Guardians. He's also struck out 21 batter in 19 innings vs. the AL East this year, including two games against the first place Yankees.
This expects to play as a pitchers duel and I'll back the under as a result.
