Death. Taxes. And Aaron Judge hitting home runs.

Those are three guarantees we have in life right now, and Judge and the New York Yankees are looking to win their third straight game on Tuesday when they host the Minnesota Twins at what should be a rainy Yankee Stadium.

With rain in the forecast and a chance this game gets postponed or shortened, is there a certain way we should bet this matchup?

Gerrit Cole (10-7, 3.28 ERA) is on the bump for New York and impressive Twins youngster Joe Ryan (10-7, 3.88 ERA) gets the ball with the total set at just 6.5 at FanDuel.

Let’s check out the full odds for this game and make a pick:

Twins vs. Yankees Odds, Run Line and Total

Run Line:

  • Twins: +1.5 (-130)
  • Yankees: -1.5 (+108)

Moneyline:

  • Twins: +172
  • Yankees: -205

Total:

  • 6.5 (Over -118/Under -104)

Twins vs. Yankees Prediction and Pick

I think there’s a good chance this game gets rained out with a storm sweeping across the East Coast, but if not there could be value on the total, even though it is set at just 6.5 runs.

Four of Cole’s last five starts for New York have ended with fewer than 6.5 total runs, and he’s been pitching well over that stretch, compiling a 2.16 ERA. Somehow, the Yankees have lost four of those games, and it’s mainly because they have one of the worst offenses in baseball over the last month.

Over the last 30 days, New York is just 28th in OPS and 25th in runs scored. Ryan has cooled off for Minnesota since his hot start to the 2022 season, but he’s still capable of slowing down a Yankees lineup that has scored three or fewer runs in eight of its last 10 games.

I’ll back the UNDER here, especially because this game could get called before we get through a full nine innings.

Lean: UNDER 6.5 (-104)
