Max Scherzer Latest Injury Update
The Mets announced following the May 18th early exit from the teams start that he suffered a “moderate to high grade internal oblique strain” that will keep him out 6-8 weeks.
Scherzer cited left side tightness in postgame availability, but imaging found a strain, and the Mets are taking the long game given their hot start to the season.
This timeline puts Scherzer on pace to return in early July if he stays on track with his rehab.
Over his career, Scherzer has been the epitome of consistency, starting 30 or more games all but twice dating back to his first full season in 2009, one of those years was the COVID shortened season.
