The Florida Panthers dominated the regular season en route to the most points of any team in the league. They finished with a 58-16-6 record and will take on the Washington Capitals in the first round of the NHL playoffs.

This was easily the most successful regular season in franchise history, and BetSided's Iain MacMillan thinks the Panthers will have no problem dispatching Washington in the first round.

As they're one of the favorites to win the Stanley Cup, let's check out Florida's past playoff performance. Have they ever won the Cup before?

When Was the Last Time the Panthers Won the Stanley Cup?

Well, they never have. The Panthers made the Finals in 1996, just their third season as a franchise, but lost to the Avalanche in a sweep.

Remarkably, Florida has won a playoff series zero times since that 1996 run, so their fans have been waiting a long time to experience some postseason success.

Can the Panthers pull it off and go where no team in club history has gone?

Panthers Odds to Win Eastern Conference, Stanley Cup

WynnBET Sportsbook currently has the Panthers listed at +230 to win the Eastern Conference and +450 to win the Stanley Cup.

They are overwhelming favorites to win the East and have the second-best odds to win a championship, behind only the Avalanche.

They've certainly got the talent to win their first title ever, as they led the NHL in goal differential (+94) and goals per game (4.11). In fact, the difference between the Panthers' goals per game average and second-place Toronto's (3.8) is about the same as the gap between Toronto and eighth-place Tampa Bay (3.48).

Florida can score in bunches on anyone, and they'll rely on that high-octane attack to carry them through the postseason.

If you like the Panthers' chances to hoist their first Stanley Cup in franchise history, head on over to WynnBET to lock in your futures bet before their first round series gets underway tonight.
