When Was the Last Time the Minnesota Wild Won the Stanley Cup?

The Minnesota Wild are one of the newer teams in the NHL after playing their first season back in 2001. In the 20 or so years since being adopted into the league, the Wild have grown into a competitive franchise in the Central Division.

When Was the Wild’s Last Stanley Cup Win?

While the Wild haven’t been around for too long, they have put in some quality work in the last 18 NHL seasons. The Wild have made the playoffs in half of those years, qualifying nine times and missing the playoffs nine times. The Wild have been bounced out of the first round in six of those nine years. Two years later they lost in the second round and once made it to the Conference Finals. 

Sadly, for Wild fans, Minnesota has never advanced past the Western Conference Finals. The Wild got close in their third season, but were swept by the Anaheim Mighty Ducks.

The Wild have another chance in 2022 to make a run at it all after finishing the season as the second-best team in the Central Division. They finished on a hot streak as well, winning nine of their last 12 games of the season. Their last two wins were particularly impressive as they came against the Calgary Flames and Colorado Avalanche. Two teams that finished atop their respective divisions.
