The Chicago White Sox are +135 favorites to win the American League Central.
That may seem confusing considering they're currently in third place and have largely disappointed all season. But, with that being said, they're only two games back and have a lot of baseball left to be played.
They can take a significant step forward in the four-game series they have against the Texas Rangers, with the opening game set to begin at 8:05pm et tonight.
Here are the odds for the AL matchup, courtesy of WynnBET Sportsbook.
White Sox vs. Rangers Odds, Run Line, and Total
- White Sox -1.5 (+130)
- Rangers +1.5 (-160)
- White Sox -125
- Rangers +115
- 8.5 (Over -110/Under -110)
White Sox vs. Rangers Prediction and Pick
Not many people are talking about how good of a season Johnny Cueto is having. The White Sox arm missed the first chunk of the season, but since entering the rotation he's earned a 2.86 ERA and a 1.170 WHIP.
Those are some solid numbers.
He'll face off against Cole Ragans of the Rangers, who will be making his MLB debut tonight. He has a 3.04 ERA in the minor leagues this season, and the lefty could cause some issues for Chicago.
The White Sox rank 24th in OPS against left-handed pitchers dating back to July 1st. The Rangers have suffered similar struggled, but against righties, ranking 17th in OPS against right-handed pitchers during the same stretch.
It may seem like a bold call, but I'd lean towards the under in a game that will feature a pitcher making his Major League debut.
Lean: UNDER 8.5
