McCovey Cove is famous for three reasons: Willie McCovey, Barry Bonds, and McCovey Dave. McCovey is the namesake of the cove, Barry Bonds amplified its relevance by bombing it with his home runs, and Dave is a Giants fan who is the most famous of the kayakers who circle the bay during Giants games in hopes of snagging a home run ball.
