Fernando Tatis Jr.

Fernando Tatis Jr. exudes baseball cool. While some old school “but the unwritten ruuuuuuules!“ folks dislike the way he plays the game, he's clearly having a lot of fun and producing at extremely high level. If Shohei Ohtani is the American League figure whose jersey you want to wear, then Tatis is the National League player whose jersey says “I am the new generation of baseball fan, and what this sport needs is more joyous bat flips”

Best fan moment of the year

You want to think of some sports-centric moment here, as Tatis proved yet again he's one of the best players in baseball. But I just come back to him running into the stands at Nationals Park after the game was paused for gun shots, ushering fans into the clubhouse for their safety amid all the confusion before he took cover himself. “There’s no longer players, fans. Everybody’s just people, just human beings out there,“ he later said.

Why you should join this fandom

Because you don't believe in stodgy old “unwritten“ rules and you like to watch someone who looks like they're having fun when they play baseball. Or maybe you just like dingers and bat flips. Either way, Tatis just makes baseball more fun to watch.
