It was a great year for Marvel gaming. One of the hidden gem teams of Marvel Comics in the 1990s is finally getting its mainstream debut in video game form: Midnight Suns! We also got Marvel Future Revolution and Marvel's Avengers DLC. Marvel's Contest of Champions is also constantly improving.

Why we needed this fandom this year

At a time when many of us were forced to stay home, Marvel Video Games provided an escape. With releases across multiple platforms, including Marvel’s Avengers and Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy on console and the open-world concept Marvel Future Revolution on Android and iOS, fans certainly had options. There were even constant updates to the longstanding fan favorite Marvel Contest of Champions and the late 2020 release of Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales. Simply put: If you needed something to take your mind off of what was happening outside of your four walls, Marvel provided it in spades with a slew of games across virtually every platform.

Why you should join this fandom

The best part of Marvel’s video game endeavors is that they are constantly expanding their efforts. Contest of Champions constantly receives topical updates to feature characters that are set to appear in upcoming film releases or popular comic book events. Future Revolution offers an impressive open-world style of play. On consoles, Marvel’s Avengers receives steady updates with new stories surrounding popular characters, such as Black Panther and Hawkeye, all the while maintaining the ability to use the iconic lineup of your favorite Avengers. And with Marvel’s Midnight Suns, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, and Marvel’s Wolverine all on the horizon, the company isn’t slowing down!
