Shadow and Bone premiered on Netflix in August as the first adaptation of Leigh Bardugo's fantasy book series. It was probably the best fantasy show of 2021 and it's coming back for season 2 and expanding the world.

Why we needed this fandom this year
Millions of people have been fans of Shadow and Bone and Leigh Bardugo’s Grishaverse book series for years, but 2021 was the year we all became Shadow and Bone fans. In a year of TV and movies interrupted by pandemic delays, Shadow and Bone was the best fantasy show of the year, and the fandom opened its arms to millions of new fans who are currently anxiously awaiting Shadow and Bone season 2.
Why you should join this fandom
On top of the Netflix series being one of the best of its genre with at least one more new season on the way, being a Shadow and Bone fan is so much fun. There are few fandoms as active on social media, sharing memes and art, talking ships and what’s to come in the Netflix series. And, if you can’t wait until those new seasons arrive, you can always read Bardugo’s book series to get a head start.
