This year, Tyler, the Creator returned from a two-year break with a brand new album, Call Me If You Get Lost. Fans appreciated the album for its unique style, and it was nothing like his other albums. Still, it proved to be yet another great one and has marked a new era in his career. Only weeks after releasing the album, Tyler pulled off an awesome performance at Lollapalooza, and he has a few more performances (pandemic pending) scheduled for this year as well.

Why we needed this fandom this year
Tyler, the Creator has certainly been on the more consistent side when it comes to his album releases (thank goodness). But you can feel the anticipation in the air when you know an album is due. Thankfully, Call Me If You Get Lost arrived just in time. And with in-person concerts returning this year, his presence at Lollapoolza was the icing on the cake for fans.
What was the icon or totem for this fandom this year?
Each Tyler, the Creator era has its own iconic aesthetic. With Igor, it was the blond wig and bright suits. Before that, it was sunflowers and warm colors. And now, Call Me If You Get Lost has a few iconic pieces, but they all add up to one feeling: vacation luxury. A vintage suitcase, cozy ear-flap hat... and maybe even a Rolls Royce if you can manage to pull that off. Another great album, another great aesthetic!
