DC's Legends of Tomorrow

SEE ALL TV
The long-running show was shockingly canceled this year after seven seasons, prompting a major fan campaign to save it. Legends has always represented diversity and inclusion as people connected with its eclectic line-up of superheroes, and it unites people by celebrating both their similarities and differences. Even in the face of its cancellation, its fans stood strong and banded together this year, reminding the world why Legends is so beloved, raising money for “Save Legends“ billboards in cities during Pride Month as part of the “Save Legends“ campaign, and sharing their stories online about how the show helped them - reminding everyone of what Legends of Tomorrow stands for and why it deserved better.

Why we needed this fandom this year

The unjust cancellation of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow this year came as a shock to Arrowverse fans around the world, but the Legends fans banded together and rose the show, its cast, and each other up at a time when we all needed it. In doing so, they celebrated the positivity, love, representation and joy that this show stood for, ensuring its legacy will live on forever.

What emotion defined this fandom this year?

Passion has always been a word closely associated with the Legends of Tomorrow fans, who take great pleasure in promoting their “little show that could”. But that was never clearer than it was this year, as they fought valiantly to save their show, making their voices heard on social media and showcasing the campaign via billboards in cities across the world, sharing their stories about why this show meant so much to them. We’d call them heroes, but we all know that the official term is and always will be: Legends.
