From 2017 to 2019, the Las Vegas Aces picked first in three consecutive WNBA Drafts, building a young core of A’ja Wilson, Kelsey Plum and Jackie Young. In 2022, the team finally got over the top with the help of new head coach Becky Hammon, who modernized the offense and got Vegas its first WNBA title. Wilson was also named MVP and Defensive Player of the Year.

Best fan moment of the year
The Aces won it all. Under Bill Laimbeer, Vegas felt like a team that just wasn’t built to take down the elite teams in the postseason, because if the team fell behind, they didn’t have the shooting to keep up. But Vegas ranked third in the league in three-point attempts last season, and it gave them that push to win it all.
Why you should join this fandom
There are still a lot of people in the world who don’t have a favorite WNBA team. Why not jump on the Aces bandwagon? You have one of the best players in the league in Wilson, who’s a force on both ends, and elite guards in Plum and Chelsea Gray. The Aces are just a fun team to watch and root for.
