As other franchises have begun to fade into the background or fumble their use of key properties, Marvel continues to delight and serve up amazing new titles for fans to enjoy. 2022 has brought with it a wave of incredible new shows and movies that continue to captivate audiences and find new ways to surprise us all these years later. Its return to SDCC after three years once again proved the power the franchise has in becoming the most talked about event of the 5-day weekend with the internet yet again exploding with excitement with each new announcement packed into the hour-long panel. While the future of the franchise might look different as new faces enter the fold as old favorites take a bow, Marvel continues to prove it's here to stay and shows no signs of slowing down!

Why we needed this fandom this year
There's no way to sugarcoat it, it's been a rough year for DC Comics fans with projects being canceled left and right. Through those darker days, Marvel has remained a light in the dark for superhero fans by turning out a wave of exciting new superhero movies and shows with even more to come. While DC is canceling projects at every turn, Marvel continues to champion its characters by bringing fans more of the content they crave and serving as a much-needed reminder that the superhero genre still has a lot of gas left in its tank.
