It’s hard to watch Coco Gauff play tennis and not love her. For starters, she’s elite, routinely speeding across the court to make jaw-dropping plays. Complementing her skills is an infectious passion that could get anyone engaged in a tennis match. In 2023, Gauff got a ton of people engaged, having her most successful season to date. She won the Washington Open, which was her first WTA 500 singles title. She followed that up by winning her first WTA 1000 title at the Cincinnati Open. This summer of firsts reached its height with a US Open win, Gauff’s first major title.

Best fan moment of the year

Winning the 2023 US Open was undoubtedly the best moment of the year. Gauff had played the best tennis of her career throughout the summer, building a ton of momentum going into the tournament. That continued in New York, as she won the first major of her career. Gauff’s celebration with her family, and the fiery speech to her haters, was one of the best moments from a year that Gauff fans will never forget.

Everyone often has to remind themselves that Gauff is only 19 years old. Since she broke through at just 15 years old and has been a contender ever since it’s easy to forget that she’s still a teenager. Gauff is just getting started, and she has a lot of exciting tennis in front of her, so it’s a great time to become a fan.
