After years of criticism about his performance in the prequel trilogy, Hayden Christensen is finally receiving the praise and support he deserves. His portrayal of Anakin Skywalker in Obi-Wan Kenobi last year was only the beginning of his return to the Star Wars franchise. In Ahsoka, he appeared as Anakin in flashbacks, video recordings, and even as a Force ghost, showcasing a warmth that elevated the scenes he was a part of. His appearances helped to develop the emotional narrative as Ahsoka grew to overcome her guilt over Anakin’s fall to the Dark Side and subsequent death. Watching Christensen swing a lightsaber around again was a dream come true, but what delighted me even more was watching him suit up in his Clone Wars attire, acting alongside Ariana Greenblatt’s young Ahsoka. He has shown an inspiring commitment to carrying on Anakin’s story, but his work on Ahsoka took things to a new level, as he helped bring the animated Star Wars universe to life.
