The Wheel of Time

The Wheel of Time is a long-running fantasy book series that now has its own huge TV show, and as you might expect it has a passionate fandom with a lot of opinions. But it's also an extremely positive and welcoming fandom. I don't know that I've ever seen a fantasy fandom go so far out of its way to welcome new members, be mindful about not spoiling things for newcomers, and just generally share in the hype and joy with each other over their shared love of the series. Everyone doesn't always agree on what they love or don't about the series, but The Wheel of Time fans make the experience more fun for everyone. From the wholesome and chaotically hilarious #TwitterOfTime community to the series' growing JordanCon convention, it really is one of the best genre fandoms out there.

This year The Wheel of Time premiered its second season on Prime Video. It was an enormous step up from season 1 and adapted some absolutely iconic parts of The Wheel of Time book series by Robert Jordan. It also brought a ton of new fans into the community, which embraced them so warmly that I'm smiling just thinking about it.

If you like fantasy shows and books, or The Wheel of Time, you should absolutely get involved in this fandom because it will probably enhance your experience with the series. Many people in it have been involved for years; others are just now beginning their journeys. The one thing that's true across the board is that there's a wonderful sense of community and love for this story which has meant so much to so many people.
