Agatha All Along

SEE ALL TV
Agatha Harkness first joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe for Wandavision and quickly became a fan favorite. However, few were prepared for just how much fun Agatha and her new coven would bring us through their new show, Agatha All Along. The series follows a unique group of remarkable women and a mysterious teenager as they uncover the secrets of the fabled Witches’ Road and each other’s pasts. As the characters struggle through a series of harrowing trials, the audience is met with a wonderful balance between hilarious interactions and heartfelt character development. Between the star-studded cast, intriguing twists, and the now iconic Ballad of the Witches Road, the show has taken the internet by storm. I was continually inspired watching these incredible women step into their own. Their support of one another through their challenges was a display of sisterhood that felt authentic rather than performative. The show is truly one of a kind!

How this fandom made the world a better place

Not only did Agatha All Along shine in its fantastic representation of women, especially women of color, it provided some great LGBTQ+ representation that melted our hearts. The return of Billy Maximoff was an incredible moment in its own right but the expansion into his life and relationships was a high point of the series. Furthermore, the show’s discussion of grief, guilt and trauma hit home for many fans, starting important conversations.

Why we needed this fandom this year

Many Marvel fans have been disappointed by recent projects, causing some to feel burnout from the superhero genre and certain overused tropes. Agatha All Along is a breath of fresh air to the MCU, right when fans really needed it. Not only are the characters fresh and interesting people but the story itself does a perfect job of paving a new path while still honoring the projects that came before it, particularly Wandavision.
