Chicago Bears

SEE ALL Football
I nominated the Chicago Bears because they have been the closest fandom to my heart for almost three decades now. This past year, the Bears enjoyed being in a positive spotlight for the first time in a while when they selected Caleb Williams No. 1 overall in the NFL Draft. The excitement Williams has brought to the organization is like nothing we've seen in years, bringing the fan base tremendous hope. Plus, the added bonus of seeing the Bears on HBO's Hard Knocks brought a positive light to the team on a national level.

What emotion defined this fandom this year?

HOPE. Bears fans, like fans of a few other NFL franchises, have gone a long time without true hope at the quarterback position. Caleb Williams changed all of that. Hope feels good!

Best fan moment of the year

By far, the best moment of the year was when the Bears drafted Caleb Williams. Everyone knew it was coming, but then it became real. The reality of it all was filled with enough hope to last fans a very long time.
