Claressa Shields

Claressa Shields is referred to as the GWOAT, Greatest Woman Of All Time, and it’s no longer a self-proclaimed title, it’s a reality. Shields continued to prove that in 2024, adding new accolades to her already elite resume. She improved to 15-0 in boxing, winning championships in her fourth and fifth divisions, and also picked up the second win of her young MMA career. She’s one of the most accomplished athletes ever, and her incredible story is being told on the big screen this year, with her biopic “The Fire Inside,” releasing in theaters worldwide on Christmas Day.

Best fan moment of the year

Seeing Shields’ story reach a bigger audience with the release of her film will be a great moment for her die-hard fans. But so far, the best moment of the year was Shields’ devastating knockout win in her boxing match against Vanessa Lepage-Joanisse. Shields entered that fight as the GWOAT, but she still looked the best she’s ever looked in her accomplished career.

What we’ll remember about this fandom a decade from now

Claressa Shields’ resume is unmatched, and she’s only 29 years old. However, her career has been somewhat overlooked. In 2024, she finally started getting the recognition she deserves, and that should continue moving forward. The world will be able to look back on her career and appreciate her as one of the greatest athletes ever.
