Dan Lanning

The Oregon Ducks have entered the lion's den of college sports — the Big Ten. With some of the most dominant athletic programs in history, the conference not only has 303 National titles to its name but it also has some of the best head coaches in the world. Joining that list is none other than Oregon's, Dan Lanning. The young, energetic coach brought a change of energy and culture the moment he stepped foot in Eugene and the Ducks haven’t looked back. As Oregon journeys through its first season in the Big Ten, the team could not have a better leader holding the reigns than Dan Lanning.

What emotion defined this fandom this year?

“FEBU” – An acronym that is whispered in the halls of the University of Oregon and screamed on the field at Autzen Stadium. It stands for, ‘Forget everything (or everybody) but us.’ Dan Lanning has preached FEBU to his players and his staff from the day he started with the Ducks and it is paying off. The focus is on their work ethic, their effort and their commitment. Forget everybody but the Ducks.

How this fandom is changing sports

Dan Lanning is quickly silencing any doubters or haters he, the Ducks, or any West Coast teams have ever had. He repeatedly says that Oregon has everything he could ever ask for and he constantly shows the world what he means by showing up and winning. “The grass is damn green in Eugene,” Lanning said. He’s right; Oregon has it all and the Ducks are setting a new standard for college football.
