Everyone needs some music from David Gilmour in their lives. It’s been a long nine-year wait for a new album to appear since “Rattle That Lock“ in 2015. He’s not been playing concerts in that time either. So 2024 is a double delight with his new album “Luck and Strange“ released and a series of live dates too. This isn’t just for old Pink Floyd fans though, a wide range of ages have been listening and snapping up tickets for his tour. Gilmour has delighted them all on both fronts. Gilmour has said the album is his best work since the Pink Floyd classic “The Dark Side of the Moon“ in 1973. It’s early days yet, but that's not a claim to dismiss easily at this stage. Gilmour has taken on fresh challenges in the recording and production. Alongside that, in conjunction with his wife Polly, they’ve taken an honest and reflective look at age, life and mortality through the songs and lyrics. From all the interviews and videos about the making and promoting of the album, it’s very clear he’s having and sharing a lot of fun too.
