At long last, in its third season, Industry finally reached the mainstream audience this year. The British HBO series following ambitious and cunning investment bankers has been around since 2020 and is a great example of what can happen when a network allows a show to grow. Adding Game of Thrones alum Kit Harington to the cast and taking on the coveted Sunday night slot after House of the Dragon season 2 wrapped, the latest installment of Industry was in the perfect position to succeed — and it did, becoming its most successful yet.

What emotion defined this fandom this year?
Excitement. If you’ve seen Industry, you’ll know the series is very fast-paced as we follow characters desperate to climb the corporate ladder, stopping at nothing — and I mean nothing — to get what they want. Yes, that brought the fandom some anxiety, but also so much excitement. Tuning in each week was a thrill difficult to even describe, and sharing that with the fandom was such a special experience.
What we’ll remember about this fandom a decade from now
Whether you were there from the start or joined in late, we’ll remember how fun this fandom has been a decade from now. Though the show will likely be over by then, the awesome experience the fandom shared won’t easily be forgotten — just like the show itself. Counting down the hours until a new episode, sharing memes about the most shocking moments and trying to predict what might happen next is what fandom is all about.
