Paige Bueckers

Bueckers was one of the most heralded high school recruits in the country but has had her time at UConn interrupted by injury and her exploits overshadowed by Caitlin Clark. But last season she returned from a full year off recovering from a torn ACL and re-established herself as one of the premier players in the nation. Bueckers averaged 21.9 points, 5.2 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game, leading UConn to the Final Four before falling to Clark and Iowa. She's now back for her fifth year on campus, chasing a national title and building a case for herself as the presumptive No. 1 pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft.

Best fan moment of the year

In a duel with USC and freshman phenom Juju Watkins in the Elite Eight, Bueckers put up 28 points, 10 rebonds, 6 assists, 3 steals and 2 blocks, leading UConn to an 80-73 win and punching their ticket for the Final Four. When the lights are brightest, Bueckers gets buckets.

Why you should join this fandom

Bueckers will, presumably, finish her college career in the NCAA Tournament just weeks before being taken in the first round of the WNBA Draft and beginning her pro career. You're going to be hearing a lot about her in 2025 and you won't have to watch for long to understand why.
