What if I told you the greatest rock band of all time would release one last song, decades after two of the members left us too soon? That is exactly what The Beatles did over the last 12 months, releasing the band’s last-ever single “Now and Then.” Using newfound technology that was used for Peter Jackson’s 2021 documentary Get Back, The Beatles were able to fully restore and recover an old John Lennon ballad to use for the song. Living members Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr contributed new elements to the song while using guitar tracks recorded by George Harrison in 1995 when the band first attempted to release the song after Lennon’s death. With one four-minute song, millions of fans were transported back to Beatlemania nearly five decades after the band broke up.
