Playing next to LeBron James and Anthony Davis would make anyone's job easier but Reaves has grown by leaps and bounds, carving out a niche by figuring out how to make their lives easier too. The arrival of Luka Doncic brings a new wrinkle and may take the ball out of his hands a bit more, but Reaves is still going to see plenty of open shots and distracted defenders.

He has solid size in the backcourt and plays the kind of fearlessness that draws trust from his star teammates and inspires his fellow role players. Reaves is a fantastic shooter — off the dribble, spotting up or off movement. He is confident attacking closeouts or a warped defense, finishing strong, getting himself to the free throw line or dishing it off to an open man. At the other end of the floor, he competes hard, making up for any deficits in quickness and strength with energy and attention to detail.
Reaves has clearly leveled up this season, taking on a much bigger offensive load with only a slight drop in his efficiency. Some will argue that he'd be an entirely different player if he wasn't on the Lakers. Luckily for him, for LeBron and for Lakers fans, they don't have to worry about that.
