A consummate veteran who does things the right way doesn’t get a lot of credit in the NBA, but that’s just what CJ McCollum has been for years in New Orleans. McCollum at 33 years old is still averaging 23 points per game on 38 percent from deep and trying to get the decimated Pelicans through another injury-plagued season.

The Pelicans’ reluctance to move him might show that teams don’t appreciate a player with actual playoff experience who can do the job and not mkae mistakes, or maybe it illustrates how much the Pelicans think they need his veteran leadership.
Either way, McCollum should be on the target list for every team that wants to try and get better offensively this summer, and any team that wants someone who knows how to live the life of a professional basketball player.
