I’d argue that no NBA player has a bigger chasm between their public perception and their actual on-court productivity. I don’t mean that in an over — or under- — rated sense, because I think Booker is commonly believed to be a star, and rightly so.

Instead, there’s a chasm between the type of player that fans think he is, which is a pure scorer, and the player he truly is, which is someone who’s just as happy to get others involved.
Of course, Booker remains a stellar bucket-getter and when he’s zeroed in, it’s a thrill ride. But early in his career, Booker developed into a pretty solid distributor, and we’re seeing those passing chops back on display the past few years. While the Suns may be an actual ball of fire right now, Booker is steady in his greatness.
