It’s nice to know that once Draymond Green retires from annoying everyone on the basketball court, he’ll just transition to annoying everyone in the broadcast booth. That’s meant as a complement, by the way … mostly.

As Green approaches the twilight of his career, it’s fascinating to watch players think they can finally take him off the dribble, bully him in the post or beat him to the spot. They still can’t. Green is still an immovable object on the block, and his aptitude for the game is still as sharp as ever.
One of the smartest defenders the game has ever seen, Green has coordinated the Warriors defense to four NBA titles. Another ring might be a pipe dream in 2025 for an aging Warriors team, but Green remains as valuable to his team’s identity than any other player in the league, whether you want to admit that or not.
