One of the NBA’s best storylines, Guerschon Yabusele turned a standout performance with France in the Olympics into a minimum contract with the 76ers. Now, the former first-round pick turned Euroleague star is back in the NBA for good. And Yabusele is more than a feel-good tale to tell by the fire; he’s a highly versatile and impactful role player engineered to help a contender.

Aptly nicknamed ‘The Dancing Bear,’ Yabusele has one of the most unique frames in the NBA — 6-foot-8 and 260 pounds, with a bulky build that allows him to moonlight as a small-ball center when called upon. He’s not an elite rim protector, but Yabusele’s impressive lateral agility keeps him impactful on the defensive end. He’s comfortable sliding his feet on the perimeter or waging battle in the post, where he almost always has the strength to win.
A reformed negative shooter, Yabusele is now a dependable spot-up sniper with the face-up skills and connective instincts to grease the wheels on offense. He processes the floor quickly, uncorking rapid-fire passes on the short roll or kicking it to open shooters off of straight-line drives. He throws his weight around in the lane and finishes with shocking vertical pop when need be. Yabusele is extremely scalable with his role, comfortable being deployed in various spots on the floor. Whether he’s poking out of the dunker spot, trailing his guard in transition, or operating as a triple-threat hub at the elbow, the Frenchman finds a way to get points on the board.
