Green has games this season where he’s better than ever. But the aggregate remains unimpressive, bordering on slightly negative. He’s a scorer who’s not 60th percentile from anywhere on the floor in efficiency. Houston is 12 points per 100 possessions better with Green on the bench.
Green has proven he’s not empty calories. There’s a real player in there that can contribute to a winner. Finding that version most minutes in most games is a crucial next step for a player Houston already rewarded with their trust in the form of a huge extension.
