Issuing a correction on many previous posts of mine, regarding Jordan Poole. You DO, under these narrow circumstances, “gotta hand it to him”

Poole was the hottest of messes last season, his first with the Wizards, seemingly determined to stick it to Draymond Green and the Warriors every time he touched the ball. The end result was a lot of terrible shots and some of the worst shooting percentages for any high-volume scorer in the league — 41.3 percent from the field and 32.6 percent from beyond the arc — all wrapped in terrible vibes and the barest minimum of effort at the defensive end.

The Wizards are still in the NBA's basement but Poole deserves some flowers. He's trying at least a little bit on defense and has actually been a relatively steadying presence for this young team. His shot selection is still pure chaos but he's hitting from beyond the arc, generating more assists and actually getting to the free throw line considerably more. Poole's scoring is at a career high, his efficiency is back in line with his best seasons with the Warriors and “I'm owned! I'm owned!!“, I continue to insist as I slowly shrink and transform into a corn cob.
