Naz Reid

MIN | 25 | 6-9 | Big
Offensive Role: Stretch Big
Defensive Role: Roaming Big
Naz Reid came into the NBA as an undersized center, an energy big whose path to minutes was about banging bodies, crashing the boards, throwing himself into empty space along the baseline and finishing everything around the basket. But somewhere along the way, he channeled that freneticism into something more — a rock-solid face-up game, solid rim protection, the ability to slide his feet on the perimeter, switching onto smaller defenders or walling off the paint. Add in that he's become one of the most reliable spot-up shooters in the frontcourt and you have an entirely different player.

Reid was overshadowed the past few years by Karl-Anthony Towns and Rudy Gobert. But his malleability and versatility have allowed him to play off all of them, spackling over the weaknesses and accentuating their strengths. He's the perfect big man complement, smoothing out the rotation and keeping everything humming at both ends of the floor no matter who is surrounding him.

That's been painfully apparent this season as the Timberwolves have struggled. He's been Minnesota's most reliable contributor at both ends of the floor and, with some sort of reset lilkely coming this summer, he could get the opportunity to shine in a more central role.
