Now, Clark is back in Seattle, the team that first gave her a shot in the WNBA. After being drafted by San Antonio in 2010 then waived, then signing again in San Antonio in 2011 and getting waived again, Clark found a home in Seattle, which was patient and let her grow into arguably the league’s preeminent 3-and-D player.

While time’s taken a slight toll on Clark’s defensive upside, she’s still a plus on that end of the floor and remains a very good shooter, knocking down 37.3 percent of her looks from deep last season. She’s an ideal fit for Seattle because she doesn’t need the ball in her hands unless it’s swung around to her for a catch-and-shoot look. She was 117th in usage rate last season but eighth in 3-point rate, showcasing just how well she understands her role.
