Offensive Role: Table Setter
Defensive Role: Roaming Guard
What has stood out most about Sabrina Ionescu’s game is obviously her 3-point shooting ability, but she proved she is so much more — stepping up as the full-time point guard this season in place of Courtney Vandersloot. Early in her career, she put up big numbers as the primary offensive creator but the Liberty struggled. With Vandersloot, Breanna Stewart and Jonquel Jones arrived she stepped back. Now she’s filling the same role, in the middle of the offense, and putting up the same big numbers for perhaps the best team in the league.

Biggest thing accomplished in 2024

Ionescu separated herself this season, fully stepping out of the shadow of her talented teammates on the Liberty and establishing that she could be the best player on a championship contender. She didn't set any career-highs this year but had arguably her best and most complete season as he team pushed for new heights.

Why they're totally unique

Ionescu has been compared to Stephen Curry since her time at Oregon, not only because of her elite 3-point prowess but also because of her versatility in shooting, clutch performances, basketball IQ, play-making abilities, and floaters. That was a tough comparison to live up to but Ionescu has done it in the WNBA, building a well-rounded game, especially in terms of playmaking and rebounding, but continuing to elevate her team with elite shooting and passing. She has come into her own this season and established herself as one of the premier offensive engines in the WNBA.
