Former UFC light heavyweight champion and future Hall of Famer Forrest Griffin announced his retirement from mixed martial arts earlier this year, but it looks like there is still a possibility that the fan-favorite and original Ultimate Fighter winner could return to the octagon.

At the end of an interview where Griffin was reflecting on his successful career in the UFC, he hinted at a potential return to the octagon if his body allows it.

“I’ll start training again, September, August. Maybe if I’m just magically healed and like everything works great, then I’ll have to try [fighting] again. But, I’m not healthy now,” Griffin said in an interview with Heidi Fang of MMA Fight Corner.

If Griffin was to return to the UFC for a final fight or two, the fans certainly wouldn’t complain.

The real question is whether or not UFC president Dana White would be willing to allow Griffin to return.

It is likely a long shot that Griffin will return to fighting, but if his body fully heals and he truly wants to fight again, there is no one in the sport with a bigger heart so anything could be possible.
