Tonight, live and free on Spike TV, Bellator 103 goes down in Kansas. The event will include the Featherweight tournament semi-finals, as well as the return of David ‘The Caveman’ Rickels. Let’s get to predicting!
JJ Ambrose vs. David Rickels- This fight should be fun. Ambrose is a fighter who is not great at anything, but is good at almost everything. His submission game is believed to be his most threatening tool, but I absolutely think Rickels can keep this fight standing. If Rickels goes in there and pushes the pace, I think Ambrose will crumble. Ambrose has never been finished via TKO or KO, so I say he loses a Unanimous Decision. David Rickels by Unanimous Decision
Joe Taimanglo vs. Justin Wilcox- The winner of this fight moves on to fight in the Featherweight tournament final, so a lot is on the line. Wilcox showed incredible heart in his comeback victory over Akop Stepanyan at Bellator 99. That fight really opened my eyes as to the kind of fighter Wilcox really is. That being said, this matchup is not very good for him. Taimanglo is a beast on the mat, and Wilcox will want to take him down. If Wilcox can strike with Taimanglo, he can knock him out. I tend to think that Taimanglo will eventually be taken down, and he will get the submission. Joe Taimanglo by rear-naked choke Round 2
Patricio Freire vs. Fabricio Guerreiro- Do I really need to make a prediction for this fight? Pitbull, pitbull, and some more pitbull by some sort of violence. Patricio Freire by KO round 1
Aaron Rosa vs. Mikhail Zayats- This is Rosa’s first fight back since getting absolutely demolished by James Te-Huna way back in March of 2012. Why is Rosa still fighting? I do not know. Will he beat Zayats? I say that is extremely unlikely. Mikhail Zayats via TKO Round 1
