This weekend, Bellator 106 is live and free on Spike TV. This card was originally supposed to be Bellator’s first foray into PPV with the Rampage Jackson vs Tito Ortiz headliner. Tito had a severe injury to his neck that forced him out of the fight a week before the event. Bellator decided to scrap the PPV and move Rampage to Bellator 108 to fight another former UFC fighter, Joey Beltran. Now, the fight that should have been headlining the PPV in the first place, the rematch between Bellator Lightweight champion, Michael Chandler, and former Lightweight champion, Eddie Alvarez, headlines Bellator 106.
Chandler and Alvarez fought in the fight of the year back in 2011 where Chandler won the title from Alvarez with a fourth-round rear naked choke. The fight was an absolute incredible back and forth battle with both men looking like they were on the brink of being finished multiple times. Finally, two years later, the fans have the rematch they have so desperately wanted. If you want to read the interview I had with Chandler regarding the rematch, click here!
Editor-in-chief, Josh Sanchez, and I look at the entire main card for Bellator 106 and make our picks and predictions for Saturday night. In our predictions thus far, Josh has a record of 10-6 while I stand at 9-7.
