South African fighter Warren ‘Chaka Zulu’ Stevelmans has a chance to rebound from his three-fight losing streak and end the year on a winning track.
Stevelmans will replace Albanian-Swiss fighter Shemsi Beqiri at Glory 12, Nov. 23. He will face American fighter Ky Hollenbeck in the reserve bout of the Glory 12 Lightweight World Championship Tournament.
Stevelmans comes into the fight on short notice. He last stepped into the ring. Nov. 8 against Belarus’ Chingiz Allazov at Legend 2: Invasion where he lost by decision. Prior to the fight against Allazov, Stevlmans dropped decisions to Aikpracha Meenayothin and Albert Kraus.
As for Hollenbeck, the American is coming off of a decision win over Kraus back in September.
This is a good opportunity for Stevelmans to rebound from his three-fight skid. It also gives him an opportunity to win his first Glory championship. If he defeats Hollenbeck in the reserve match and one of the winners of the semifinals is unable to compete, he will advance to the finals of the tournament.
