An important welterweight bout was scheduled for UFC Fight Night 35 between rising Russian star Adlan Amagov and veteran Jason High, with both fighters looking to continue their winning streaks and ascent into the top 10 rankings.

Unfortunately, a Russian media outlet is reporting that Amagov suffered an injury during training that will force him to withdraw from the bout, which leaves High without an opponent. The website spoke with a source at Red Fury gym, where Amagov currently trains.

The UFC has yet to officially comment on the injury, but the report states they will begin seeking a replacement.

Amagov (13-2-1) is currently riding a three-fight winning streak and was ready for the step up in competition. His most recent outing against T.J. Waldburger at UFC 166 was an impressive performance that left people talking thanks to a brutal first-round knockout.

High (18-4) has won nine of his last ten fights, with wins over James Head and Anthony Lapsley in his previous two octagon appearances.

UFC Fight Night 35 is set to take place on January 15 at the Arena at Gwinnett Center in Duluth, Georgia. The event is headlined by a middleweight scrap between Luke Rockhold and Constantinos Philippou.
