Ryan Couture, who is the son of legendary mixed martial artist Ryan Couture, has been out of action since August. In his last fight, Couture suffered his second straight loss which led to the lightweight receiving his walking papers from the UFC.

Now, after a three month lay-off, Couture is going to be returning to the cage  on Jan. 18 at Riverwind Hotel and Casino in Norman, Okla.

In an untelevised event, “Battlegrounds MMA 3,” Couture (6-3) will be facing Kyle Sjafiroeddin (4-4).

Battlegrounds MMA is run by Olympic gold medalist wrestler and Blackzilians coach Kenny Monday.

While Couture is hoping that he will be able to get back on the winning track, he won’t have it easy as he enters hostile territory in his opponent’s backyard.
