Mixed martial arts fans have been buzzing about the upcoming season of The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil, which puts rivals Chael Sonnen and Wanderlei Silva against each other as head coaches of the show’s third season in Brazil.
While we have been waiting for more details about the show to surface, we have now learned that the show will begin filming next Sunday and that the new season will feature fighters in the heavyweight and middleweight divisions.
The UFC starts filming the third edition of The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil on Jan. 12 in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and MMAFighting.com confirmed with sources close to the situation that the cast will feature middleweight and heavyweight contestants.
The official tryouts for TUF: Brazil 3 also included light heavyweights, but the UFC decided to go with 185-pounders and heavyweights only.
TUF: Brazil 3 airs from March to May in Brazil on Globo and on Fight Pass for the rest of the world.
The coaching dynamic between Sonnen and Silva will be something that makes the season must-see television, but we all know the success of the season will be dependent on the caliber of fights that the cast members put on inside of the octagon.
